WESTON RELISHING POSH TEST

Posted on: Thu 15 Jan 2009

RHYS Weston believes that a tough trip to Peterborough United is just the game Walsall needs in the wake of Jimmy Mullen's departure.

"It's a big game and a stern test, but that's just what we want right now," he said. "We are keen to get back into action and know that we are going to have to be on top of our game.

"Darren Ferguson has done well to keep the momentum going at Peterborough this season; they beat us at home in October and have some quality players.

"That said, we have worked hard this week under John Schofield and it's been enjoyable, even though we've had double sessions.

"It's unfortunate that Jimmy has gone and we wish him well, but these things happen in football. A situation like this gives everyone an extra incentive to make their mark with the new boss; we have to be proactive and make things happen, starting at London Road on Saturday."
