MULLEN SEEKS HOME COMFORTS

Posted on: Fri 28 Nov 2008

THE SADDLERS return to home soil on Saturday as we look to get back into winning ways against a Swindon Town side who are under the caretaker charge of one-time Walsall loanee, David Byrne.

"We've got a lot to prove to our supporters, particularly at home," said manager, Jimmy Mullen. "That said, I know that we are a much better team than our current home form suggests.

"We proved against the likes of Scunthorpe [in the League], Southend and Carlisle what we are capable of. On those occasions we played with no fear and produced some great football. We have to get back to that and I know that we have the quality and ability within our ranks to do it.

"The players need the supporters right behind them; they don't deliberately go out to make mistakes, but by the same token, we have to be mindful of the fact that we have to give them something to cheer about."
