PALMER PLAYS TO HIS STRENGTHS

Posted on: Thu 20 Nov 2008

CHRIS Palmer is looking forward to locking horns with MK Dons on Saturday as The Saddlers attempt to make it three League wins in a row against a side who have adapted well to life in League One following their promotion at the end of last term.

"We know that MK Dons will be a well-organised side," he said. "They have made a solid start to life at this level and it will be a good game between two teams who like to play football.

"As long as we play to our strengths, there is no reason why we can't get a result. We put in a good, professional performance at Colchester last weekend where we got our tactics spot on. As a result they never caused us any real problems and we were comfortable throughout."

Palmer has been used in a number of different positions already this season, but has been generally pleased with his form. "I feel that I have been consistent," he added. "Sometimes being so versatile can go in your favour, but it can also go against you as you don't get the opportunity to settle into one position.

"That said, I am pleased with my contribution to the team so far and long may it continue.

"One thing that did become clear early on is that you have to work hard at this level. There are some good teams who like to play football, but on our day we have proved that we are more than capable of living with the best."
