DWAYNE Mattis is considering changing his lucky number to 43 after bagging back-to-back goals in that minute of The Saddlers' last two games.

After ending a near two-year goal drought with a well-taken header against Brighton in our last away game, Mattis popped up to once again head Jimmy Mullen's side in front against Carlisle on Saturday.

Jabo Ibehre doubled The Saddlers' lead before a late Marc Bridge-Wilkinson penalty, following Mattis' ill-timed tackle, made for a tense finish.

However, The Saddlers held on to record a deserved 2-1 victory much to the midfielder's delight.

"I thought we played well," he explained. "First half in particular I thought we did really well. I thought it was just going to be a matter of time before we made the breakthrough.

"When it got to about 40 minutes I thought it was going to be one of those days where you have loads of chances but don't actually get the goal.

"Luckily for us the goal came though and I thought some of our football at times was brilliant.

"Alex Nicholls put in a great cross and the defender was just hesitating so I just thought I could nick in front of him and get an effort in on goal. Luckily for me it went in.

"That's two goals for me now both in the 43rd minute. I think that'll be my lucky number from now on!"
