THE VERSATILE Chris Palmer is settling down well into The Saddlers' side.

The 24 year-old former Derby County youngster arrived at the Banks's Stadium at the start of the summer and his solid and reliable displays during the pre-season friendlies were enough to earn him a permanent deal.

Equally comfortable with both his left and right foot, he can fill in a number of different positions. "I just enjoy being out there and playing," he said. "I don't mind where I am asked to play as long as I am in the team, but it can be difficult sometimes being moved around as you aren't able to settle into one position.

"That said, I'm thoroughly enjoying it here; everyone has been brilliant and I am excited by what this team can go on to achieve. There are a lot of new players, but we are adapting all of the time. I thought that we did quite well at Yeovil and could have easily won the game, whilst we were comfortable on Tuesday evening up until the sending off.

"This is a tough League and we are going to have to work extremely hard in each game, but if we play to our capabilities, we know that we can give anyone a game."
