ANTHONY Gerrard walked away with the Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season prizes at last night's inaugural Awards Evening here at the Banks's Stadium.
On what was a glittering occasion, an audience of over 300 were treated to an entertaining evening, which included the presentation of seven awards plus comedian, Ollie Spencer who provided plenty of laughs.

"I was absolutely delighted to have won the Player of the Season award," said Gerrard, who has been in commanding form in the heart of the back-line. "It's a nice accolade, particularly as it was voted for by the fans.
"This is the second time that I have won it in the past three years, but this time it was more of an achievement as there have been a lot of good players this season who were in the running.
"Last year I found myself coasting through games, but I have had to concentrate more this time around and it has helped my game.
"Overall it has been a positive year; I always try to give 100% and do my best. The future of this club looks very bright indeed. We have made progress and will come back refreshed for the challenges ahead next season.
"I am hoping to take part in a training camp in Miami, which will be of great benefit to me.
"I would like to thank everyone who has voted for me. We are in the entertainment business and I am only too aware of the role that the supporters play. We have to gee each other up and the fans have been fantastic to me."
