THE FOLLOWING information will be useful to members of the press:
FIRST TEAM MATCHES AT THE BANKS'S STADIUM
How to apply:
1.1 All media accreditation requests for first team matches at Banks's Stadium must be submitted via the Football DataCo i-PBS booking system (www.football-dataco.com/index.htm) no later than 48 hours prior to the fixture.
1.2 All members of the media attending fixtures at Banks's Stadium will need to ensure they are registered with Football DataCo to attend matches with all organisations required to gain a login account from Football DataCo before they can use the system.
1.3 Every organisation wishing to attend a first team match must apply for their accreditation via the Football DataCo i-PBS booking system (www.football-dataco.com/index.htm) no later than 48 hours prior to the fixture.
1.4 Every member of the press must have an accredited matchday pass. Organisations must provide names of who is attending when applying for accreditation.
Collecting Your Ticket & Parking:
2.1 All passes (press, photographers, gantry access etc) are available to collect from the Collections Window at the Ticket Office.Upon collection, members of the accredited press should make their way to the Press Entrance which is clearly signposted from the Ticket Office.
2.2 All members of the accredited press, unless otherwise notified, will be have a space reserved on the Green Zone Car Park.
Matchday - Pre-Match:
3.1 You are required to sign in on matchdays as part of Football League Regulations, this can be done by contacting our Chief Matchday Press Steward, who can be found at the top of the stairs leading out into the ABS Burton Stand from the Press Entrance. Here you will receive a press pack, which contains a complimentary matchday programme and useful information relating to the game at hand.
3.2 Complimentary tea and coffee is available before and after the match from the Media Room, which is situated within the Players Tunnel Area and can be accessed by presenting your press pass to our stewards at the Players Tunnel Area. Please be aware however that this room will be out-of-bounds from 20 minutes before kick-off until full-time. All members of the media must vacate this room 20 minutes before kick-off.
3.3 Team sheets will be available from the Media Room around 45 minutes prior to kick off.
3.4 All journalists and broadcasters will be designated a specific seat in the press box or within Block O of the ABS Burton Stand and as such any phone or ISDN point you have booked will be in easy reach. We would respectfully ask that you take your seat in the press box 20 minutes before kick-off to avoid any unnecessary congestion, and the extra time will enable you to check your telephony connections.
3.5 Wireless Internet access is available from the press box area. Simply activate your wireless connectivity on your laptop and log in to our secure servers - either 'Walsall FC Media', 'Saddlers' or 'Swifts' - free of charge.
Matchday - Half-Time:
4.1 At half-time a comprehensive round-up of the half-time scores can be heard on our Matchday PA System and you are welcome to join our Chief Matchday Press Steward in The Bonser Suite for half-time refreshments - please look out for the table marked 'Media'.
Matchday - Post-Match:
5.1 At full time you should make your way back to the Media Room where both managers will attend an after-match press conference. We would ask that the media remain seated at all times. The first press conference will be for the written media and microphones and Dictaphones should be placed on the table provided. Radio and television interviews will be conducted in the tunnel area afterwards by managers and requested players. Player requests must be made to the media officer of the respective club. Arrangements will then be made. Walsall players will attend post match press conferences at the First Team Manager's discretion.
5.2 Access to the changing room area is strictly prohibited to all members of the press apart from the Media Officers of the two clubs.
YOUTH AND RESERVE MATCHES
6.1 All media accreditation requests for non-first team matches at the Banks's Stadium must be made via e-mail to daniel.mole@walsallfc.co.uk no later than 24 hours prior to the fixture. Media arrangements will be confirmed at the time of application.
MEDIA INTERVIEWS AND PRESS CONFERENCES
7.1 All media requests for interviews regarding footballing and non-footballing matters should be done by contacting Club Secretary/Press Officer Daniel Mole - 01922 651 401 or daniel.mole@walsallfc.co.uk.
7.2 Requests for player and or coaching staff interviews will be granted following consultation with the First Team Manager. Unsolicited interviews are not to be undertaken with or by any member of the playing and or coaching staff.
7.3 Requests for non-footballing staff and / or Centre of Excellence staff will be granted at the discretion of the Club Secretary/Press Officer and / or relevant department head.
7.4 Scholars are not normally permitted to do media interviews unless such a request has been agreed with the Head of Youth.
7.5 Pre-match press conferences will normally be held at 9.00am on Thursday's at the club training ground. Exact times and locations will be confirmed via email, along with which players are also available to interview. To be added to our media distribution list, simply email: daniel.mole@walsallfc.co.uk.
7.6 No unauthorised video or TV recording of pre-match press conferences is allowed unless by a Football League broadcast rights holder. Recording press conferences for broadcast online is strictly prohibited unless prior agreement has been reached with Walsall Football Club and / or the Football League.
