IT WAS well and truly Wacka's day at Brentford on Saturday as not only did the popular custodian break Colin Harrison's all-time appearance record for the club with his 530th outing between the posts, but also kept a clean sheet as we secured a goalless draw against the play-off chasers.
"It was a great occasion and a real honour for me," he said. "I had some nice messages in the build-up to the game and I thought that we were going to nick all three points, which really would have put the cherry on top of the cake.
"But in the end I was happy to keep a clean sheet. We played really well and looked organised and hard to beat, which has been the case for a few weeks now.
"If we can start turning a few of these draws into wins, we'll be okay. We're going into every game knowing that we're going to be in it and with a bit of extra luck we can start climbing the table to where we want to be because we are a hard side to break down.
"The defence was awesome on Saturday; the back four are playing as a real unit and have some great competition to keep them on their toes, which all bodes well for us.
"As nice as the occasion was for me, once the whistle went at the start of the game, I was just as focussed as ever and it was nice to make a decent early save because even after this many games, it does settle you down."

There was a surprise for Wacka during the pre-match warm-up when all of the players and staff emerged wearing t-shirts with 'Walker 530' on the back and a picture of his autobiography, 'Size Isn't Everything' on the front.
"I hadn't got a clue that they were going to do this," he admitted. "I'd gone out early for my warm-up as usual and then saw them all appear shortly afterwards in the t-shirts - even the Gaffer had got one on and David Grof whipped his top off to reveal one underneath!
"It certainly put a smile on my face and was great banter, something that I'll always remember.
"The fans also gave me a fantastic reception. It meant a lot to me and I love them and the club to bits."
So what about the future for The Saddlers' record appearance maker? "I prefer to take one game at a time," he added with a wry smile. "Groffy is doing well in training and waiting in the wings, but as long as I feel fit enough and keep contributing in games, I'm happy to carry on and if selected to add to my appearance tally, all the better!"
