SADDLERS' SQUAD DELIVER FESTIVE CHEER
THE SADDLERS' first-team squad delivered some Christmas cheer earlier today as they visited the Children's Ward at Walsall Manor Hospital.
Richard Money's first-team squad handed out Christmas presents, talked to the children, signed autographs and posed for pictures.
The team visit the Manor every year and, as Saddlers' skipper and dad of three Tommy Mooney explained, it is something they always look forward to.
"Hopefully we have given the kids something to smile about," he said. "There is no good time to be in hospital but to be there at Christmas must be really hard.
"The kids were a real inspiration and we have all been looking forward to today's visit.
"They were all happy and looking forward to Christmas even though they might not be able to celebrate it at home.
"The hospital staff also deserve a lot of credit for their hard work. This is the least we can do and I'm just pleased that the children enjoyed their afternoon with us."
