CAPTAIN'S BLOG

WE PICKED up a great three points on Tuesday night.

Fair play to the lads, I thought they were excellent. The defence were solid, the midfield worked hard and the front two caused Bristol Rovers all sorts of problems. We were good value for the win and, as a defender myself, I can appreciate how well Jamie (Vincent) and Clayton (McDonald) did.

I was on the bench for the game and it was cold! I warmed up when Clayton (Ince) made his double penalty save though! Me and Daz (Byfield) said to each other that we fancied the Big Man and he come up trumps.

I'm fit now in terms of I'm over my injury but it's been a little difficult this week. Because we are playing Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday, as you'd expect training has been light to make sure the lads are fresh. I've been getting through training fine and then I've been doing some more intense work on my own to keep myself ticking over. There's no substitute for playing games though. We're in good form at the moment and we'll be hoping to take that in to Saturday's game at Oldham.

They lost midweek so, a bit like Bristol Rovers last week, will probably look to keep things tight. We need to get at them and let our flair players play like we did on Tuesday.

I went and watched my beloved Everton last night. As you know, all my family are Blue but, you may not know that my Dad is a Red. My 14 year-old brother still hasn't nailed his colours to the mast, so I took him to Goodison last night. Thanks to King Louis and a 2-1 win over Chelsea, I'm sure he'll be a Blue from this day forward!

All the best
