YOUNGSTERS END WITH A WIN

Youth team complete League campaign with victory...

THE SADDLERS' youth team ended their League campaign with a 2-1 victory in the sunshine at Shrewsbury Town.

Having fallen a goal behind, strikes from Jordan Sangha and Romario Reid saw us turn the scoreline around to claim the points.

"Both sides had particularly young sides out," said Academy Manager, Neil Woods. "We started the game brightly and had good control as we played some neat football.

"Our hosts were able to get themselves into it as the half went on and they got stronger before taking the lead.

"It became a bit scrappy for a period and so we changed a few things around at the start of the second half and, credit to the lads, they displayed an improved attitude and commitment to the task in hand to grab a couple of goals.

"We deserved the lead and started playing some good football again in the closing stages as we ran out 2-1 winners.

"It was nice to get a glimpse of some of the new intake for next season and also end our League matches on a winning note."

We will lock horns with Shrewsbury Town again in the Final of the Midland Youth Cup, which takes place here at Banks's Stadium on Monday evening (kick-off 7.00pm). Come along and give our youngsters your support.

WALSALL: Jezeph, Owen, Cockerill-Mollett, Sangha, Roberts, R. Smith, Oliver (Delaney), Kouhyar, Reid, Shorrock (Maddocks), Pooni (Shakespeare). Subs not used: K. Rowley, Probert.
