Saddlers handed home start...
Walsall will kick off the 2016/17 Sky Bet League One campaign at home to newly-promoted AFC Wimbledon on Saturday 6th August.It will be our first meeting against the Wombles in their current guise. The London club, who were only founded in 2002, won promotion from League Two last season after beating Plymouth 2-0 in the play-off final at Wembley.
The Saddlers will also be at home on the final day of the season, with relegated MK Dons the visitors to the Banks’s Stadium on Sunday 30th April, kick-off 12pm.
Our first away game of the campaign is against Oldham on Saturday 13th August.
Other notable fixtures include a Boxing Day trip to Port Vale and an away game at Oxford on New Year’s Eve.
We will face Midlands rivals Coventry at home on Saturday 29th October and away on Saturday 22nd April, in what will be our final away game.
Walsall will also take on Shrewsbury at the Banks's on Saturday 15th October, with the reverse fixture on Saturday 15th April.
