T & T ITINERARY CONFIRMED

2 July 2013

Saddlers head to Caribbean on Wednesday...

THE ITINERARY for The Saddlers' pre-season tour to Trinidad & Tobago has been confirmed.

Dean Smith's first team squad, along with 8 members of staff, will leave these shores on Wednesday (3rd July). We will spend four nights in Tobago.

After enjoying a welcome dinner on Wednesday, the squad will be put through their paces with a double training session on Thursday. Due to the climate, the team will train at 7.30am and again early evening.

On Friday, after a light morning training session, we take on a Tobago XI at Plymouth Recreation Ground in Tobago which has a capacity of 1,000. Kick-off for this fixture is 6.00pm local time.

On Saturday, the team will take part in a coaching session on the island before making various visits. We will train again on Saturday evening.

On Sunday, we travel to Trinidad to our base in Port of Spain. We take on our hosts, Central FC, at 4.00pm (local time) at the Ato Boldon Stadium.

The stadium, located in Couva, is named for eight-time Olympic and World Championship medal winner and 1997 200 m World Champion, Ato Boldon. It was constructed for the 2001 U-17 World Cup which was hosted by Trinidad and Tobago. It also hosted games from the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. It has a 10,000 capacity.

On Monday, the team will train at 7.30am before taking part in a coaching seminar at 4.00pm.

On Tuesday evening, we will take on a Pro League XI to the National Stadium in Port of Spain. The stadium was renamed in 2001 as the Hasely Crawford Stadium after Hasely Crawford, the first person from Trinidad and Tobago to win an Olympic gold medal.

The stadium holds 27,000 people. It hosted the final of the 2001 FIFA U-17 World Championship. San Juan Jabloteh of the TT Pro League calls the stadium home. It also hosted games at the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. Kick-off is 6pm local time.

The team depart Trinidad for Tobago to catch our return flight home the following day, arriving back in the UK on Thursday morning.
