BRADSHAW NOMINATED FOR LEAGUE ONE PLAYER OF THE MONTH

7 October 2015

Striker shortlisted for September award...

Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw has been nominated for League One’s Player of the Month award for September.

The 23-year-old scored three goals in five matches last month, including a stunning match-winning brace against Doncaster.

Bradshaw, who also netted in our home draw against Crewe, is the Saddlers’ top scorer with eight goals in all competitions.

"I’m over the moon to have been nominated," said Bradshaw.

"All personal awards are testament to the hard work of the team. Without them, I couldn’t do my job of scoring goals.

"I scored three more goals in September, with the two against Doncaster probably the highlights.

"With the first one, the ball dropped to me in the box and I caught it sweetly and it flew into the top corner.

"The second one was a bit unusual for me because I wouldn’t usually try to chip the keeper!

"I don’t think I am renowned for scoring great goals, but he closed the angle down well so I had to quickly weigh up my options and the safest bet was to go over the top.

"It was a good month for me personally and for the team."

Bury striker Leon Clarke, Colchester goalkeeper Jamie Jones and Rochdale midfielder Peter Vincenti make up the four-man shortlist.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
