THE FIERCE CAN'T WAIT

Stourbridge boxer out to impress boyhood hero...

Stourbridge boxer, Steven Pearce, cannot wait to box in front of his boyhood hero, Ricky Hatton, when he headlines Black Country Boxing and Hatton Promotions seven-fight show at Walsall Football Club.

‘Fast & The Fierce’ takes place in the Stadium Suite, Banks’s Stadium, on Saturday, 10th October.

‘The Fierce’ warms up for his English Title tilt later this year with a six round contest against Latvian, Eduards Krauklis, hoping to impress ‘The Hitman’.

“I’m really excited,” Pearce told www.uko-boxing.com

“Ricky Hatton is one of my boxing heroes. I watched all of his fights when I was younger. I always admired his style and spirit. He was a fantastic boxer but, more than that, he had a massive heart.

“I can relate to that. I understand he’ll be ringside on the night so it’s a dream come true to be headlining a show that he will be at.

“This is an important fight for me. It’s a tune-up ahead of my English Title shot against Adam Little in December. I can’t overlook Krauklis. He’s been in with some good kids.

“Training is going well and I’m looking to put on a show for Ricky and make a statement to Adam Little too.”

Ricky Hatton is set to be in attendance with two of the fighters who now trains – Wednesbury welterweight, Sam Evans, and Market Harborough welterweight, Reuben Arrowsmith. Old Hill lightweight, Manny Zaber, Walsall’s Midlands Area Cruiserweight King, Chris Keane, Stoke light welterweight, Kieron McLaren, Midlands Area Light Welterweight Champion, Andy Keates, and Romford light welterweight, Anthony Upton, are also in action.

Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 Ringside, are available by calling the Walsall FC Box Office on 01922 651 414/416 or 07875 653 842.
