TEAM TALK v GILLINGHAM, 1/2/15

Boss focussed on battle for League points...

A LOT has been said in recent days about our fantastic achievement in securing our place at Wembley for the first time in the club's history. There are a lot of important League games to be played between now and then, starting on Sunday, so our concentration is now fully on getting the three points against Gillingham.

We know that we have to improve our home form. It was a scrappy game on Tuesday, but we did what we needed to do.

Gillingham are unbeaten in their last three games and have moved themselves out of the relegation zone. I watched them at Bristol City on Thursday evening and they are a decent side.

We're going to have to be at our best, but we are fully-focussed on the task that stands before us and hopefully we can end what has been a positive week with three welcome points.

As it stands we sit just four points off the play-off places; this is such a tight League and if we can get on a run we will find ourselves right up there.

Tuesday's heroics have certainly given us all a boost and with the games coming thick and fast, the opportunity is there for us to build a run.

I am fortunate to have a lof of good people around the place whose hunger and desire is serving us well both on and off-the-field.

With the transfer deadline looming, I am hoping to be able to bring someone in on loan. There have been a few enquiries for some of our young lads and Kieron Morris has gone out on loan to Wrexham in a bid to get regular, competitive action at a good level.

With the exception of Sam Mantom, who has his leg brace off at the weekend, we have a fully fit squad to choose from.

Thank you for your superb support at our last home game. Please get behind the lads right from the off.
