SKIPPER SADDLES UP WITH NEW DEAL

30 June 2015

Adam Chambers signs new contract here at Banks's Stadium...

THE SADDLERS have been given a timely boost with the news that skipper, Adam Chambers, has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year deal.

The 34 year-old joined the club from Leyton Orient in the summer of 2011 and has gone on to become a key figure in the engine room of the team since then.

Taking over the captain’s armband last term, he now has over 180 senior appearances for the club under his belt and is a big influence both on and off-the-field.

“I am delighted that Adam has agreed to extend his stay with us,” said manager, Dean Smith. “It was never in any doubt; the only reason it has taken so long is that our holidays meant that we kept missing each other.

“Adam and I go back a long way; the type of player and person he is fits perfectly into the way we try to do things here.

“He’s fully committed to the cause and leads by example. He has a phenomenal work ethic, something which the other lads can only learn from.

“He has been a big influence here in recent seasons and I am pleased that this will continue into the new campaign.”
