Sawyers hungry for Easter weekend...

ROMAINE Sawyers has returned from International Duty and is ready to play his part in our Easter weekend matches, which start with the visit of Notts County on Good Friday (kick-off 3.00pm).

The 23 year-old helped St. Kitts & Nevis progress to the next round of their World Cup qualification with victory over Turks & Caicos, but is now focussed on the quest to secure vital League points for The Saddlers.

"It's been a nice distraction to go away with my national team," he said. "It was a successful trip and I was pleased to be able to play my part in the 6-2 victory.

"My focus is now firmly on helping Walsall get back into winning ways. I have watched the Chesterfield game back and we played well in spells. In the end we were unfortunate to come away with nothing.

"There is the chance for us to kick on at home now and build some momentum. They're all big games at this stage of the season, but I can see why there is extra incentive on this one.

"We're just looking up the table; when you look down, you are asking to go in that direction.

"The last time I returned from International Duty, I scored, so hopefully I will have the same response this time around.

"It's a busy period with the matches coming thick and fast, but I am looking forward to it."
