YOUNG RESERVES WIN

Victory for second-string as Taylor completes 45-minute outing...

A YOUTHFUL Saddlers’ second-string ran out 1-0 winners against Morecambe on Wednesday afternoon.

Andy Taylor played for 45 minutes as Liam Kinsella’s first half penalty decided the encounter.

“We played some outstanding football during the first half,” said Neil Woods. “Our quality in and out of possession was terrific and we linked up well. The only issue was that we didn’t go in at the break further in front.

“To be fair to our visitors, they came out and made it harder for us in the second period. As a result we didn’t quite flow and create as much as we would have liked to.

“All in all there were plenty of positives to come out of the game from our young side, our football was excellent in the first half and then we showed good organisation in the second half.

“Andy Taylor looked comfortable and came through the first half with no adverse reaction to his recent injury.”

WALSALL: Jones, George, Taylor (Probert), Kinsella, Dallison, Okosieme, Rush, Flanagan, Bakayoko, Heath, Morris. Subs: McKenzie, A. Reid, K. Rowley, Shakespeare.
