Marc O'Neill looks ahead to Friday's show...
An Irish charmer with brains and brawn, Big Brother’s Marc O’Neill is visiting the Banks’s Stadium this Friday as part of the UK Pleasure Boys.O’Neill, who appeared on the latest series of the reality TV show, will be joined by former X Factor contestant Jermaine Donegal in this all singing and dancing all-male troupe.
Tickets are still available for Friday’s show, which will be the Pleasure Boys’ only performance in the West Midlands this year.
Ahead of their visit, Saddlers.co.uk recently caught up with O’Neill to get an idea of what to expect…
Q: So Marc, how did you end up joining the Pleasure Boys?
MON: I’ve travelled all around the world doing stripping, working for various companies before I gave it up for about three years.
The Pleasure Boys had done a gig in Dublin and I was there as part of a promo team because I used to be on a reality show in Ireland.
I spoke to John (Woodward) and he said that I should be a stripper - he didn’t know that I actually used to be one.
I saw how good the lads were and joined the team. Everyone gets along and we have a bit of fun. Since I’ve come on board I haven’t looked back – I love it.
I’ve also just finished a degree in chemistry so I’m probably the smartest stripper around!
Q: You were recently on Celebrity Big Brother 2015, what made you go on the show?
MON: We did it for a laugh. John and Claire, who’s on our promotion staff, applied for me to join Big Brother.
They thought I’d be brilliant on there because I’m the crazy one of the group. They did it for a laugh thinking that their guys would meet me and say I was too over the top and a bit mad.
I didn’t think they’d want someone as mad as me – but they did!
Q: What was it like on there?
MON: It was good but quite weird as there was a lot of acting. It was like being on Hollyoaks with really bad acting. I loved all the attention and having a laugh but being a Pleasure Boys means more to me. I have more fun doing this job.
Q: How much are you looking forward to performing in Walsall?
MON: I’ve heard Walsall is meant to be crazy so I’m looking forward to seeing how mad it is!
It will be a brilliant show. We’ve got dancers, good looking guys and we have lots of fun. And the fun we have spills out into the crowd and creates a great atmosphere.
