SMITH ON STALEMATE

15 November 2014

Boss assesses the action as we share the spoils with Posh...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith, looks back at our goalless home draw with Peterborough United.

"I thiught we were excellent, to be honest, and all that was missing was a goal," he said. "I'm really pleased with the performance levels that we are showing now and I feel that we are getting better all of the time.

"Today we got into the positions, which is encouraging, and could have had three or four.

"We can take plenty of heart from the fact that we were so dominant against a team like Peterborough. You have to give them credit for the way that they defended, but we also looked solid defnsively and its another clean sheet and another game unbeaten.

"The momentum is building and whilst we may feel like it's two points dropped, there is plenty for us to be positive about.

"We'll keep working hard and now we look forward to Tuesday's FA Cup replay at Shrewsbury. They gave us a tough game here and it will be equally as difficult at their place, but we go into it with plenty of belief and determination to progress into the next round of the competition."
