Mantom on midfield mire...

MIDFIELD man, Sam Mantom , battled through the London Road mud to help The Saddlers secure a share of the spoils at fellow play-off hopefuls, Peterborough United.

“We dealt well with the conditions,” he said. “Out wide it was okay but in the middle it was like a farmer’s field.

“We had easier conditions when we went to the Peak District earlier in the year!

“The pitch got worse as the game went on, but we dealt with it well. Our preparation was spot-on and it was good that the game went ahead.

“It will only be a good point if we can follow it up with a win at home to Crawley on Saturday.

“We know that Crawley will come here full of confidence and keen to play. It’s an important one for us ahead of a busy month.

“The matches are certainly coming thick and fast. Every game is massive for us now and we will keep doing the right things and hopefully picking up the points.

“We know what we have to do and we are ready for it.”
