Defender assesses defeat at Oldham...
SADDLERS’ defender, Paul Downing, has given his views on our 2-1 reverse at Oldham Athletic.
“It was a game between two teams who like to get the ball down and play,” he said. “We came here with confidence but in the end we didn’t do the things on and off the ball that we know we are capable of.
“It’s about being brave on the ball and keeping possession, something we struggled to do for much of the first half, but we addressed things at the break and came out a lot better for the second period.
“We pushed towards the end and it could have gone either way. There wasn’t much in it to be fair; we are disappointed with the goals that we conceded, and we know that we can do better.”
