TEAM TALK v NOTTS COUNTY, 1/11/14

Boss looking to build run of results...

THE PLEASING thing is that we go into the game with everyone fit and available. Jordan Cook came off feeling his hamstring during the last game, but he has trained this week and is okay, whilst Sam Mantom got another 65 minutes under his belt for the reserves in midweek.

It was also nice to see both Mathieu Manset and Ashley Grimes get on the scoresheet for the reserves.

The competition is there within the squad. The lads know that they have to take their opportunity when it comes along and everyone is pushing hard, which is just what we need.

We go into Saturday's game on the back of a hard-earned victory over Chesterfield last weekend. Any win is nice to get and it was good to be able to get over the line and secure three points against Chesterfield.

It was a competitive game in which I felt that we created the better chances and played some decent football.

On Saturday we find ourselves up against an in-form side who are full of confidence with six wins on the spin. Shaun Derry and Greg Abbott have done a fantastic job there and deserve all the plaudits that they are currently getting.

Last season we went there and were clinical. We fully deserved our 5-1 victory, but know that we face a stern challenge this time around against a side who have used the loan market well.

To be fair, our season has been stop-start so far. The injury situation has certainly not helped our cause with so many key players missing at one stage or another. It's been well-documented, but not we are looking to get some consistency.

We've got a good group toegether here who want to do it for each other; they want to be successful together and know only too well that it will take determination and commitment.
