LOAN DEALS FOR YOUNGSTERS

Bakayoko back at Southport as Roberts heads to Gresley...

EMERGING front-man, Amadou Bakayoko, has returned to Vanarama Conference outfit, Southport, on loan.

The powerful 19 year-old has found the net three times in 15 outings for The Sandgrounders having initially joined the club in October and returns to Haig Avenue after bagging a brace in our 5-0 midweek Walsall Senior Cup victory at Stafford Town.

Meanwhile after seeing his loan spell at Southport come to an end, goalkeeper, Liam Roberts, has been sent out to Gresley for the remainder of the season.

The youth team product will serve the club on loan in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South, a level he played at earlier in the season with Rainworth MW.

He stands by to make his debut for The Moat Ground club at the weekend as they host Loughborough Dynamo.

“It’s an advantage that I know the level I’m going into having played in this League earlier in the season,” said Roberts. “Whereas on that occasion I joined a club who were struggling and looking to move away from the foot of the table, this time I’m joining a club in the top half who are looking to really push on.

“I’ve already played at Gresley for Rainworth, so I know the set-up is good and they have a decent fan base at this level.

“It’s important now that I start to get regular game time. I feel that I’m training as well as I have ever done and can only learn from Cutts [Neil Cutler] and OD [Richard O’Donnell].

“They are both keen to help and pass on their knowledge and have really helped bring my game on to the next level. As I say, I need to be working towards a match at the end of the week now.

“Although I didn’t play during my loan spell at Southport, they were keen to make me feel part of the group and in that sense it was a good experience to be around them and see how things are done in a different environment.

“This move offers me the chance to play regularly between now and the end of the season and really show the Gaffer what I am capable of.”
