Young midfield man heads for Dales Lane...
YOUNG Walsall midfielder, Jake Heath, today completed a one-month loan move to Rushall Olympic. The 19 year-old enjoyed spells at Worcester City and Leamington last season and is looking to continue his development with the Evo-Stik Premier Division side.
“I went out on loan last year and felt like I really improved,” he said. “I found it to be a lot more physical than I expected and I learned a lot, especially during my time at Leamington.
“I was coming up against bigger and stronger lads and it definitely toughened me up.”
Now a year older, Heath will be looking to get competitive games under his belt for The Pics who finished just five points outside the play-offs last season.
Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Richard Sneekes manages the club who take on Stafford Rangers in a friendly on Saturday before their League opener against Frickley Athletic a week later.
“It’ll be great to get more first-team experience," he went on. "They’re a good side in a tough League so it can only be good for my progression.
“I hate not playing games so hopefully the manager will put me in and I can show what I can do.
"There’s nothing worse than having to watch from the sidelines so I’m looking forward to just getting out there.
“Liam [Roberts] is already at the club as well as a couple of lads who I used to play alongside in the [Walsall] youth team, so hopefully I’ll settle in quickly.”
