SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, was a happy man after seeing his side secure a deserved 1-0 victory at Fleetwood Town, to end their unbeaten home League record.
“The performance was terrific,” he said without hesitation. “We were in control for 80 minutes and then defended well when they threw the kitchen sink at us towards the end.
“We worked the ball really well from side-to-side and were fantastic in possession.
“The players’ application and understanding was superb. I thought that Rom took his goal really well, whilst our two full-backs were excellent all afternoon.
“We were so organised and gave them problems throughout; they were unbeaten at home for a long time, so to come here and get the three points is excellent.
“It was a deserved win for us and I am really pleased.”
