New signing on Saddlers' return...
JORDAN Cook believes he has joined a ‘different club’ from the one he left four years ago.
The 24 year-old enjoyed a prosperous loan spell at the Banks’s Stadium at the tail end of the 2010/11 campaign. Dean Smith had taken over the managerial reigns earlier in the year and, under his guidance, and with the help of Cook, helped The Saddlers avoid relegation to League Two on the final day of the season.
Now, four years on, Cook has been impressed with progress The Saddlers have made.
“It’s a club transformed,” he told www.saddlers.co.uk. “One of the reasons I wanted to come back is that, since my last spell at the club, I’ve kept an eye on results and seen how the club has been improving. I wanted to come back and improve on what I did last time.
“Last time it was towards the end of the season and the team were struggling at the foot of the table, trying to avoid relegation. It was a pretty tough time for the club but we managed to squeeze out of it.
“Ever since then I’ve seen the club improving, improving, and improving. Now it’s established at this level and, hopefully, we can take it forward from here.
“I’m here to score goals and help the team as much as I can. We have a good squad and an excellent manager who wants to improve us all as players and people.
I think is the right move for me.”
