SADDLERS BACK IN WINNING WAYS

25 October 2014

Boss on victory over Chesterfield...

THE SADDLERS battled out a welcome three points with a single-goal victory over Chesterfield as Tom Bradshaw returned from injury to bag the winner.

"It was nice to get the points," said manager, Dean Smith. "They are a good team who pushed us all the way, but I felt that overall we had the better chances, particularly in the first half.

"The lads kept plugging away and they got their reward in the end.

"I thought that Anthony Forde was outstanding when he came on; it was a well-worked goal that won it for us with some great link-up play and a nice finish from Tom Bradshaw.

"It's good to have him back from injury and to also see Sam Mantom come on during the second half is a real boost.

"We're delighted to have the points in the bag and now we will be looking to get on a positive run.

"The fans really got behind us again today; they can see what we are trying to do and gave us excellent support."
