BRANDY IS BACK!

14 January 2014

Pacy front-man returns to Banks's Stadium...

THE SADDLERS have brought former striker, Febian Brandy, back to the club on loan from Sheffield United until the end of the season, subject to the necessary clearance being received.

The 24 year-old played his part in our successful second half of the season last term and ended the campaign with seven goals to his name plus numerous assists.

Opting to switch to Sheffield United during the summer, he has been unable to establish himself at Bramall Lane this season and display the obvious talent and ability that he has.

He returns to Banks’s Stadium with a determination to carry on from where he left off and play his part in our quest to secure a place within the top six.

“I am really pleased to get Febian back,” said manager, Dean Smith. “He is a player that has done very well for me in the past.

“He knows how I work and I know what makes him tick, so it’s a good fit.

“He enjoys this part of the season; the players were keen for him to return and he will bring energy and drive to us.

“He’s a bubbly character who scores goals and creates chances and I am sure that he will have a big role to play between now and the end of the season.”

Brandy joined Manchester United at the age of nine and progressed through the ranks to become a regular for the reserves whilst also representing England at various youth levels.

He was allowed to join Swansea City on loan in January 2008 where he got his first taste of senior action and impressed sufficiently to return to the Welsh outfit on loan at the start of the following campaign.

His next port of call was Hereford United and then Gillingham, both on loan, before he was released from Old Trafford in the summer of 2010.

He eventually joined Notts County before heading for Greece with Panetolikos, from where he was signed by The Saddlers for his first spell with the club.

Brandy will wear squad number 29 and stands by to make his debut this evening for the visit of Oldham Athletic (kick-off 7.45pm).
