With just one defeat in eight matches in all competitions, Walsall will be hoping to continue their recent good form with a positive result at Swindon this weekend. The Saddlers are one of two teams still without an away win in League One this season – the other are Chesterfield – although the last three away games have all finished in 1-1 draws. Luke Williams’ Robins, meanwhile, ended a run of five matches without a win by beating in-form Rochdale last time out. Town, who finished 16th last term, have fared well in this fixture in recent years, losing just one of the last 13 meetings between the sides.

Swindon brought Rochdale’s seven-match winning streak to a shuddering halt with a surprise win at the County Ground. Two goals in eight first-half minutes from Darnell Furlong and Nathan Delfouneso put Town in control. Ian Henderson missed a penalty for Dale, who then had Joseph Bunney needlessly sent off on 72 minutes. Nathan Thompson rounded off the scoring late on when he headed home Conor Thomas’ free-kick.
18th October – Gillingham 1-1 Walsall – League One
Walsall extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a hard-fought draw at out-of-form Gillingham. Cody McDonald’s 25th-minute header put the home side in front, but Franck Moussa levelled on 59 minutes when he capitalised on a Jonathan Bond error. The Gills almost grabbed a winner eight minutes from time, but Neil Etheridge produced a stunning save to turn Bradley Dack’s free-kick onto the bar.

19th April 2016 – Walsall 1-1 Swindon – League One
Substitute Kieron Morris' second-half equaliser rescued Walsall a precious point against mid-table Swindon. Michael Doughty fired the visitors ahead just before the hour mark, but Morris equalised with a low drive on 71 minutes. The result kept Walsall third in League One, three points behind second-placed Burton.
Swindon Manager: Luke Williams
The 35-year-old was appointed Swindon head coach on a permanent basis in March 2016 after impressing as caretaker. Formerly first-team coach at the County Ground, Williams has won 12 of his 38 matches at the helm and also managed Brighton’s Under-21 side from 2010 to 2013.
Swindon Star Man: Nathan Thompson
Club captain who scored his first goal of the season in Tuesday’s 3-0 humbling of high-flying Rochdale. A product of the Robins’ youth system, the 25-year-old defender has made over 150 appearances for the Wiltshire club and has played every minute in the league this term.
Simeon Jackson (groin/pelvis), Flo Cuvelier (ankle) and Maz Kouhyar (knee) are out, while Reece Flanagan and Rory Oliver are long-term absentees.

England has taken charge of 11 matches this season, brandishing 24 yellow cards and four red. The last Walsall game he officiated was our 2-0 home win over Peterborough in December last year.
