HAPPY BIRTHDAY WALSALL FC

THE SADDLERS are 125 years of age on Saturday and we will be looking to get the perfect Birthday present with three points against Sheffield United (kick-off 3.00pm).

There will be fun for all the family before the game with various activities taking place outside the stadium, whilst there will be a group of former players in attendance plus a special souvenir 100-page Matchday Programme.

With regards to team news, leading scorer, Will Grigg, is rated as 50/50 as he battles to overcome a hamstring problem. The Northern Ireland International missed the last game as Craig Westcarr stepped up to the plate with a brace to beat Coventry City.

Andy Taylor lines up against his former club, whilst Yorkshireman, James Baxendale will be hoping to keep his starting place having come back into the side against the Sky Blues.

On-loan goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone will be looking to keep a fourth clean sheet in a row following his switch from Manchester United last month.

Sheffield United go into the game in fourth place in the table but with games in hand over their rivals.

They have an impressive 11 victories from their away League games this season, losing only three times on their travels.

Danny Wilson's side go into the game having kept eight clean sheets in their last nine games, however, Tony McMahon is forced to sit out through suspension having amassed ten yellow cards.

Meanwhile Dominic Poleon has been recalled from his loan spell by Leeds United as Erik Tonne has been allowed to join Hamkam in Norway on a temporary basis.

Jamie Murphy is fit again after recent injury, but Ryan Flynn (ankle), Matt Hill (head) and Dave Kitson (hamstring) all have question marks over their participation.

The latter two picked up knocks in Monday's goalless home draw with Carlisle United.

If you are unable to make it along to the game, fear not as Saddlers Player will have live, full match commentary.
