Saddlers ready for Rovers...

THE SADDLERS hit the road on Saturday as we travel to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Doncaster Rovers (kick-off 3.00pm).

Manager, Dean Smith, who saw assistant, David Kelly depart for Nottingham Forest this week, has no new injury concerns.

Richard Taundry resumed training on Thursday as he recovers from an ankle problem that has laid him low in recent weeks. Whether Saturday's game comes too soon for him remains to be seen.

Will Grigg started for Northern Ireland on Wednesday night as they took on Malta and he will be back for the trip to Yorkshire.

Meanwhile James Baxendale faces his former club and will be looking to add to the goal he scored in the last game as we beat Oldham Athletic 3-1 to make it seven wins from nine matches.

Goalkeeper, James Walker announced his departure from the club by mutual consent earlier this week.

Doncaster Rovers go into the game level on points with League leaders, Tranmere Rovers. They have five defeats from their 14 home League games so far.

Manager, Brian Flynn appointed David Williams as his assistant this week and he will be looking for his side to bounce back from last weekend's disappointing 2-0 reverse at Bury.

Iain Hume has been sidelined through injury for a month, whilst midfield man, Martin Woods is closing in on a return to action having been laid low since November.

Front-man, Billy Paynter returned from a three-match ban to appear as a second half substitute in the last game, but could start against The Saddlers.

Rovers are undefeated on home soil since mid-December, however, our only other previous visit to the Keepmoat Stadium, in October 2007, ended in a 3-2 victory for Walsall.

If you are unable to make it along to the game, fear not as Saddlers Player will have live, full match commentary...
