SMITH SMILING

Boss on excellent victory...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith was smiling after seeing his side dismantle Coventry City.

"I thought we were excellent," he said. "We were tactically spot-on and the players deserve all the praise they get or putting things into practice.

"There were some fantastic performances out there and it was pleasing to see both Craig Westcarr and Jamie Paterson grab two goals apiece.

"The atmosphere was excellent and we rose to the occasion to secure a deserved three points and make amends for the defeat that we suffered at their place earlier in the season.

"There are some big games coming up but we have to remain level-headed. It's about getting as many points as we can from these final games and seeing where it takes us.

"We've another big game coming up at the weekend, which we are looking forward to. There'll be another good atmosphere and hopefully the fans that were here today will turn out again to give us the backing that we need.

"It's all about momentum at this stage of the season and we certainly have that."

Saddlers chalked up the 4-0 win without leading scorer Will Grigg.

"It was always a tough call for Will to play both games over Easter," added Smith. "He looked 80% on Friday but Craig lead the line well and James Baxendale came in and did a terrific job."
